My name is Ms. Dixon and I am excited to be joining Bethesda Elementary School this year as your child’s 3rd grade teacher. I have a bachelor’s degree in Finance and worked in the business world for five years before I realized I was not following my passion and first love—teaching children. I made the decision to leave my job and enrolled in the teacher education program at Peace College in Raleigh, NC. I am certified with a dual teaching license in Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education K-12.
This is my fourth year working in a classroom. I worked as a teacher’s assistant while completing my course work to obtain my teaching license. I have worked one year as a classroom teacher.
I plan to facilitate open communication with you the parents of my future students and you can be assured that my passion for working with children will foster a positive and enjoyable learning experience for your child.
I enjoy reading and spending time with my mom who lives in Cary, NC. I also love writing poetry, traveling, cheerleading, and cooking for friends. I believe open and positive communication between parents and teachers is crucial to a child’s success in school. I will be available to discuss any concerns you may have throughout the school year.
I am looking forward to getting to know your child and working with them in a classroom that will facilitate learning, exploration, and discovery in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My philosophy for learning is “EACH child is unique and each child learns in a different way”. I will strive to partner with you to ensure your child has a rewarding and successful school year.
